Chandigarh Open Hand
Originally designed for the Cinevesture International Film Festival that debuted in Chandigarh, the Open Hand Collectible is an iconic symbol of the 'city beautiful'.
The Open Hand (La Main Ouverte) in Chandigarh is a frequent theme in Le Corbusier's architecture, a symbol for him of "peace and reconciliation. It is open to give and open to receive".
Made in stoneware clay, and fired in a classic cream glaze, this weighs 350gms. Each piece is unique, and you may find 'Kintsugi' on some of the pieces, a process in which cracks are enhanced using gold leaf.
Ceramics take time to produce and, if not already in stock, can take up to 4-6 weeks to produce, fire, glaze, fire again, and ship. Please keep this in mind while placing your order with us :)

Thank you for being a part of the process. Everything you see here is shaped through a cycle that isn’t always visible. You’re not just buying an object, you’re holding hours of making - of failed attempts, adjustments, physical labour, and persistence.
